West Churchfields Development, Errol

The second-largest settlement in the Carse of Gowrie, Errol lies on the Firth of Tay, 11 miles east of Perth and 15 miles west of Dundee. The parish of Errol achieved burgh status in 1648. It retains an unusual winding main street, offering local amenities coupled with easy commuting. Described as the Cathedral of the Carse, the square-towered parish church of Errol highlights the skyline of the idealic set village. Preston Watson the pioneer of Scottish flight built and flew a very early aeroplane from a field where Errol airfield now is.
